Choosing swim lessons shouldn’t feel overwhelming.

You want your child to feel safe in and around the water — not rushed, pressured, or afraid. But not all swim programs take the time to build true confidence and skill.

We believe swim instruction should feel calm, thoughtful, and reassuring — for swimmers and families alike.

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

At St. Augustine Swim Academy, we guide families through their child’s swim journey with patience, experience, and a safety-first approach. Our instructors focus on steady progress, not speed — helping swimmers feel capable and secure every step of the way.

Meet Our Founder

Kayla is the Founder & Co-Owner of St. Augustine Swim Academy and a certified swim instructor with over 13 years of experience teaching children and adults how to swim. Her passion for the water began as a competitive swimmer at a young age and grew stronger during her time as a lifeguard and instructor at the University of Florida.

Those early experiences shaped her dedication to water safety, skill development, and creating a welcoming environment for swimmers of all abilities. Kayla believes swimming is more than a life-saving skill—it’s a source of confidence, joy, and lifelong connection. She is proud to share her knowledge and love for the water with every swimmer who joins the academy.

Inclusivity

We believe the water is for everyone.

Our programs are designed to welcome children and adults of all abilities, including those with special needs, sensory sensitivities, or fears of the water. We take a patient, individualized approach, adapting each lesson to meet every swimmer’s comfort level and learning style. Whether it’s overcoming anxiety, building trust step by step, or celebrating milestones big and small, our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where every swimmer feels seen, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.

Testimonials

Kayla has taught both of my boys to swim with confidence, and we are so grateful for her. Her kind but firm teaching style has made all the difference — especially for my oldest, who had a real fear of water. He wouldn’t get his head wet in the ocean or the pool, but with her guidance he not only overcame that fear, he’s developed a genuine love for the water and now enjoys playing and swimming freely.
